Croatia set to form coalition government

The Croatian parliament, which on Friday convened for the first time since closely contested elections in November, meets on Saturday to approve a cabinet formed by Ivo Sanader, the centre-right prime minister.

Mr Sanader has gained control of the parliament through concessions to coalition partners including a farmer-oriented party that could slow down difficult accession talks for the country of 4.5m people with the European Union.
