Switzerland and India star in tourism league

India has the most competitive travel and tourism industry among developing countries, and Switzerland ranks the highest among industrialised nations, in the first ranking of its kind to be drawn up by the World Economic Forum.

Transport infrastructure and safety helped propel India to the top of a table that also ranks 124 countries according to health and safety, pricing, the environment and culture and the countries' regulatory frameworks.
