Viacom in talks to supply internet content

Viacom, the media company that includes the MTV Networks cable group, is in talks to supply content to internet portals in an effort to more than triple digital revenues over the next three years.

Tom Freston, chief executive, disclosed the negotiations during a conference call to discuss the company's fourth quarter earnings, in which its profit dropped 68 per cent to $129.5m.
