Numis revenue tumbles 41% as deal fees drop

Proprietary investments and strong commissions could not compensate for falling transaction work at Numis Corp, which missed expectations as it reported revenue down 41 per cent to £51.4m for the year to September 30.

The investment bank and stockbroker reported that institutional commission and corporate retainer income remained strong in spite of falling volumes and share prices, reflecting increased market share.
