KBC in top-level overhaul

KBC, the stricken Belgian bank, late Tuesday night replaced its chief executive along with nearly half its executive committee.

Sources close to the company said André Bergen, chief executive, had asked to leave after undergoing heart surgery six weeks ago. He will be replaced by Jan Vanhevel, a KBC veteran who currently oversees the Eastern Europe business.
