Dominique Strauss-Kahn yesterday became the latest target of the shoe-throwing protest technique pioneered against George W. Bush as he addressed students at the beginning of the International Monetary Fund's annual meetings in Istanbul.

The incident at Bilgi University illustrated the deep distrust of the IMF in the country hosting the meetings.
