No matter how often you visit, Hong Kong always manages to thrill. The drive from Chek Lap Kok airport on Lantau island, which replaced the old Kai Tak airport near the centre of town, makes arrivals even more spectacular than before.
Gone is the rather grimy route between high-rise apartment buildings. The view now is of the dramatic skyline of one of the world’s great commercial cities, reaching up in the distance to the top of Victoria Peak, nearly 2,000ft above the waterfront of Causeway Bay.
