Democratic White House frontrunner Hillary Clinton yesterday pledged that as president she would negotiate a successor treaty to the Kyoto protocol on climate change by 2010 - two years before Kyoto expires.

"This [tackling global warming] is too important," she said. "We cannot afford to wait two more years."
