Belarus warms to the west after pipeline dispute

After this month's bitter fight over the prices Belarus pays for Russian energy, signs are emerging of a potential redrawing of allegiances - and thaw in relations - between Minsk and western Europe.

Speaking as a compromise agreement allowed Russian oil once again to flow through the Druzhba pipeline after last week's three-day shut-off, Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus' authoritarian president, used his warmest language for years towards the west.
