Topping all but one of the general rankings and dipping only to second place on the male student vote, the BBC has emerged as the favourite employer of choice among UK students in the Trendence survey.
Its claim of 14.2 per cent of the vote – a significant 4.8 per cent ahead of MI5 in second place – can be explained in part by the growing popularity of careers in the media. And the BBC, with its reputation for diverse opportunities and job security in an otherwise notoriously unstable sector, has profited from this trend – even in the wake of recent redundancies.
