Rank Group, the bingo and casino operator, gave investors further evidence that the business is on a more stable footing after it delivered better first-half results than expected.

The largest owner of gambling space in the UK said a strong performance at its Grosvenor Casino business and stablisation in trade at Mecca Bingo helped push revenue up 3.5 per cent to £266m ($444m) for the six months to the end of June.
