US extends visa waiver programme

Citizens from six more European Union countries will be able to travel to the US without needing to obtain a visa, George W. Bush, US president, announced on Friday.

Citizens from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovakia – together with those from South Korea – will be allowed visa-free entry provide they register online ahead of their arrival in the US and carry tamperproof biometric passports.
