US activist puts pressure on Sapporo

Steel Partners has written to Sapporo Holdings, putting pressure on the beermaker to clarify how it intends to improve its business performance and maximise shareholder value.

This marks the first time the US activist fund, headed by Warren Lichtenstein, has publicly requested information from the Japanese company, in which it wants to acquire a 66.6 per cent stake.
