What’s the deal?
A new credit card from Egg, the internet bank, offering customers 1 per cent cashback on everything they spend, capped at £200 a year. The card also comes with a “price promise”, so if a holder buys something for £50 or more with the card and finds the same item on sale cheaper within 30 days, Egg will refund the difference. Also, if a cardholder buys tickets to an event and then cannot attend, Egg will refund the value. Customers also qualify for discounts of up to 25 per cent at retailers including Lastminute.com, Virgin Wines and Figleaves, the online lingerie store. The card charges a monthly fee of £1. The annual interest rate is 16.9 per cent on new spending and 8.9 per cent on transferred balances.
