Banks’ capital ideas won’t end with CoCos

Contingent convertible bonds are unlikely to be the only new form of bank capital, according to bankers and investors who are still considering several other ways to shore up financial institutions’ balance sheets.

The comments came as Lloyds Banking Group bondholders are preparing to submit their applications on Friday to exchange their existing bonds for the bank’s new securities, known as CoCos.
