High street trims prices in hunt for Easter money

Retailers are cutting prices in an attempt to increase sales in advance of Easter.

Woolworths, the retailer, which is offering half-price outdoor pools and playhouses, warned last week that “consumer spending [is] likely to remain depressed”, citing tough competition for a poor set of results.
