Emap consigned to history

The 60-year history of Emap, one of the UK’s largest media companies, will come to an end early next year after Guardian Media Group and Apax Partners agreed to pay £1.26bn for its business-to-business publishing arm.

Emap’s shareholders will receive 470p a share from the offer, which was confirmed two weeks after the company announced that it would not sell the B2B division.
