Last month, the Belgian diamond industry took its cue from high-end invitation-only trade fairs such as the Las Vegas Couture jewellery show and Geneva’s SIHH watch show, both of which pamper their visitors with a view to cementing lasting relationships and upping sales.
Antwerp’s Diamond Bourse organised the first Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair, flying in and hosting 120 European jewellery retailers and manufacturers, plus their partners, during a three-day show, offering access to 40 Belgian diamantaires and unlocking the doors to Antwerp’s historic and high-security 105-year-old diamond bourse trading hall.
