Irish minister offers help for Waterford workers

The Irish government has indicated that it may be ready to help current and former Ireland-based employees of Waterford Wedgwood to secure their pensions, after the luxury tableware company was put into receivership this week.

Brian Lenihan, the finance minister, said on Tuesday: “The government is looking at the position and will seek to intervene in any court proceedings if we can and if we can do anything to help.”
