Emerging funds suffer worst year yet

Emerging market funds have had their poorest year since records began because of the violent sell off in risky assets as fears mount that the world economy may be heading for the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Investors pulled out $67.2bn from emerging market equity and bond funds this year – the biggest outflow since 1995, according to EPFR Global.
