The FTSE 100 registered its biggest gain in more than a month yesterday, lifting the index to a 10-month high.
Cable and Wireless was among the risers, gaining 1.6 per cent to 142¾p amid hopes that the market rebound would allow it to revive plans to split out its Worldwide division.
