Severn Trent hit by declining demand

Severn Trent warned full-year revenue would be reduced by between £20m and £25m as a result of a fall in water consumption by its recession-hit business customers.

The water group said in a trading update that its commercial and industrial customers, which account for about 20 per cent of group revenue, were using less water as businesses either close down or are less active as a result of the slowdown.
