First-time buyers can take pick of incentives

Housebuilders are looking to woo first-time buyers by offering schemes that make it easier for new homeowners to secure mortgages and meet payments.

Many have introduced incentives to attract buyers in a falling market. Persimmon Homes is offering mortgage subsidies of £500 a month for two years on select properties and Redrow is willing to share part of the deposit and cover stamp duty and legal fees.
