Brown vows to ‘get on with job’

Gordon Brown blamed dissatisfaction with rising food and fuel prices for Labour’s by-election humiliation on Thursday night in his own Scottish backyard.

Speaking on Friday morning as he arrived in Warwick for crucial talks over party policy ahead of the next general election, the prime minister insisted that he had the policies to deal with Britain’s economic woes.
