Walmart set to focus on growth outside US

Walmart, the world's largest retailer, expects its international store footprint to grow faster than its US operations next year, accounting for more than two-thirds of its new square footage growth.

Company executives told the retailer's autumn analysts' meeting that it would add 37m square feet to its more than 600m sq ft global footprint, excluding possible international acquisitions, a 4 per cent increase.
