Nintendo says growth spurt set to end

Nintendo on Thursday forecast flat sales and a fall in profits this year even as the Japanese video game company celebrated record results for the year to March 2009.

Nintendo estimated that operating profit will fall by 12 per cent to Y490bn ($4.98bn) in the new financial year, with sales of its Wii home console flat at 26m units, and sales of its DS handheld machine falling by 4 per cent to 30m units.
