Bush calls for unity on Iran as allies argue

President George W. Bush yesterday sought to shore up the international front against Iran's suspected nuclear weapons programme as differences over strategy emerged in a spat between the US and Britain.

Discord within the Bush administration had also been exposed, diplomats said, by the leaking to the media of a UK letter suggesting that Iran be offered more incentives to give up its uranium enrichment activities.
