Brazilian rejection of ban on guns blamed on discontent with Lula

Brazilians voted by more than three to two on Sunday to reject a ban on the sale of firearms and ammunition in the country.

The size of the rejection was seen as a protest at the failure of public policy on security and as a reflection of discontent with the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
