Iceland deal opens way to extra IMF aid

The International Monetary Fund on Wednesday cleared the way for additional aid for Iceland after the crisis-hit country resolved its dispute with Britain and the Netherlands over money lost in an Icelandic bank.

The Washington-based fund said its executive board would hold a first review of its rescue programme next week, with a fresh tranche of funding likely to flow soon after.
