Delancey seeks to grow school group

Delancey Estates, the property fund backed by George Soros, hopes to secure planning permission to expand further the elite independent private schools group it has bought for £113m.

The fund, run by Jamie Ritblat, son of Sir John, the property expert long associated with British Land, bought the Alpha Plus Group from Sovereign Capital, the private equity group. The portfolio of 18 schools and colleges includes Wetherby School in Notting Hill, once attended by Princes William and Harry.
