Bomb injures Iraqi deputy oil minister

BAGHDAD, Nov 3 - A bomb blast wounded one of
Iraq’s deputy oil ministers close to his home in Baghdad on
Monday, a security source said.
Sahib Salman Qutub was slightly wounded in the blast, which
hit his convoy as he was leaving his home in the Utaifiya
neighbourhood of west-central Baghdad, the source said.
One of Qutub’s bodyguards was seriously wounded.
Violence has dropped sharply in Iraq, reaching its lowest
level last month since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, but
attacks still occur on a daily basis.
Despite heavy security, government officials are still
targeted. Last month, a bomb blast in Baghdad killed Saleh
al-Ugaili, a member of parliament loyal to anti-American cleric
Moqtada al-Sadr.
