Viewpoint: nothing wrong with ‘dull but reliable’ in this market

Given that most financial institutions seem to be rushing headlong into the infrastructure business, it can be hard to find people who are willing to suggest that this might not be an entirely sensible development.

But bankers who specialise in reorganising the debt of bankrupt and distressed companies can always be relied on for a contrarian view. As one told me the other day: “Infrastructure financing is just another way for companies to borrow even more than they did before.”
