Congress unease threatens Doha deal

Unease about globalisation among US legislators is so great that a Doha deal would probably be rejected by Congress, Barney Frank, the Democratic chairman of the House financial services committee, claimed onThursday.

His remarks, at the second day of testimony by Ben Bernanke, the Federal Reserve chairman, come at a moment when the administration is locked in tense negotiations with the Democratic leadership on trade policy.
