Just don’t think about the food miles

Aspen is known for many things. Its celebrity-per-sq-ft quota. Its private jets. Its altitude (it is one of the highest resorts in North America, at 2,422m). But one thing should not be forgotten: its food.

This small but infinitely chic Colorado resort nestled in the central Rocky Mountains has, over the past two decades, been developing into a prime gourmet destination. US ski resorts are not always associated with good food but in Aspen, there is now a genuinely impressive array of restaurants to satisfy the most discerning foodie skier.
