Thousands of grab-and-go bicycles could be available for London commuters under plans to adopt a Paris-style scheme for beating the capital’s traffic.

In a city famed for its taxis and buses, as well as the sprawling Tube system, Londoners have not embraced two-wheeled transport as eagerly as their continental counterparts.
