Date put on school swine flu decision

A decision over whether to delay reopening schools until late September to reduce the intensity of the swine flu pandemic will be taken by the government inAugust.

Its scientific advisory group will in mid-August assess studies under preparation showing how far the effect of school closures has helped slow the spread of infection, and the impact that would have on reducing pressure on the health service.
