3i stuck in barren investment batch

3i is experiencing its longest ever barren spell without agreeing a new deal, triggering a three-quarters drop in investments for the five months to August at the UK’s oldest private equity group.

There have been no new stand-alone deals at the London-listed group for almost seven months, since its India Infrastructure fund unveiled a $161m (£100m) investment in Krishnapatnam Port Company, a deep water port on India’s east coast.
