Indonesia’s Kalla under fire over business link

Jusuf Kalla, Indonesia’s vice president, has come under fire from governance activists after his family conglomerate and other politically connected business groups were linked to an $8bn effort to accelerate investment in the country’s ailing power sector.

The criticism comes at a time when Jakarta is under pressure to demonstrate progress in a largely stalled $150bn infrastructure programme unveiled at the beginning of last year.
