US energy companies are already moving towards greener investments in spite of the absence of climate change policies coming out of Washington, according to experts on the industry.

Oil and gas investment is typically planned up to 10 years in advance and companies consequently need to begin factoring in the costs of expected future legislation even when it seems far off.
