Every business has to start somewhere, and even the largest and most powerful companies often have humble origins.

Many begin with a single person or a small group of people working quite literally around a kitchen table. Bill Hewlett and David Packard founded their computer business in the garage of a rented house in California. Sony's first premises were in a rented room in a department store amid the ruins of post-war Tokyo.
