Church of England targets academy schools

The Church of England is set to become the biggest sponsor by far of academy schools, boosting the supply of an educational experience much sought after by middle-class parents desperate to avoid private school fees.

Those of all faiths and none often seek out religious schools because of their emphasis on discipline and pastoral care – which in turn often foster better exam results.
