The broad story from this year’s FT Bowen Craggs Index of top 75 corporate web estates is that they are getting better. Although the average score is up by only four points, many more companies have high quality sites.

In 2008, 22 companies scored more than 180; this year 32 do. That is explained partly by new companies coming into the list (see Methodology, right) but also by genuine improvement. Of the 63 companies that featured in both the 2008 and 2009 indices, 40 have seen their scores increase, 20 by more than 10 points.
