Charities urged to eye mergers

Charities should considering merging in order to survive the downturn and become more efficient, a leading think-tank on philanthropy says on Friday.

Despite widespread concern about pressure on income, far fewer charities than companies are willing to merge to perform better, says the study from New Philanthropy Capital, a London-based group that advises donors.
