Accidents seem to have littered the career of John Tu. At one point he accidentally became a property developer; and later he co-founded what is today a large and successful technology company following his biggest accident of all – losing a small fortune in the stock market turmoil of October 1987.

It was money he and his business partner, David Sun, had just made from selling their first venture – Camington Corporation – to AST.
