Citigroup has lost one of its most senior investment bankers in Europe after Christopher Williams quit to join Credit Suisse.

Mr Williams, global co-head of Citigroup’s financial institutions group and one of the leading advisers to the UK government on its bail-out of the country’s largest lenders, is joining the Swiss bank as vice-chairman of investment banking.
