Spanish port faces threat from Tangier

At southern Spain’s Port of Algeciras, in a bay dominated by the rock of Gibraltar, the light blue vessels of Maersk Line bustle in and out while containers are stacked five high.

But the port is facing a threat from the other side of the busy Gibraltar Strait, which is near the crossroads of some of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.
