As the financial year heads into its last few months the pace of job moves has slowed significantly. Most corporate financiers are staying put in anticipation of what many hope will be a bumper annual bonus.
They are also watching for promotions: Goldman Sachs is about to announce the promotions to its partnership pool for 2006. The event, which occurs every two years, will be watched closely this time for clues about the bank’s direction under new chairman and chief executive Lloyd Blankfein. Rivals are also waiting, hoping to pick off bankers who just fail to make the cut.
