The Big Four accounting firms face the biggest threat yet to their dominance of the top end of the audit market, according to the new head of BDO International, the fifth-largest network.

Jeremy Newman, head of BDO Stoy Hayward, the network’s UK member firm, will be named on Monday as chief executive of BDO International, the umbrella organisation that oversees the whole network.
