Towards the end of last month, three young men aged between 16 and 19 were shot dead in Acajutla, El Salvador, after a car drove by and opened fire on them. The three victims, as well as the perpetrators, were believed to be members of youth gangs.
On the same day, Guatemalan police found a body in long grass by the side of the highway that connects the capital with the Pacific coast. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder was gang-related.
