Postal staff to strike again next week

Postal workers are set for a new wave of strikes next week as fears grow that many smaller businesses will not be able to find alternative carriers, undermining the fragile recovery in the run-up to Christmas.

The Communication Workers Union said further walkouts would start next Thursday after the first national postal dispute for two years got under way with 24-hour stoppages on Thursday and Friday.
